Lisa West is an award-winning Pittsburgh, PA portrait photographer that specializes in wedding photography, engagements, family portraits, high school senior portraits and professional pet photography. Lisa has over 15 years of photography experience and studied at Pittsburgh Filmmakers located in Pittsburgh, PA, where she earned a certificate in fine art photography. In 2006, Lisa West officially started her photography business specializing in family and pet photography. Lisa won a 1st Place Award from the 2017 International Photography Awards in the Professional People, Wedding category. She has also been recognized as the top 8 family photographers in Pittsburgh by Expertise in 2022 and top 23 wedding photographers in Pittsburgh, PA by Expertise in the 2016 thru 2023. In 2012, Lisa was voted as one of the best pet photographers in the Pittsburgh area by CBS Local. Her photography has been published in a variety of books, calendars and magazines.
Being a passionate animal advocate, Lisa West has been donating photography services to help local animal shelters since 2007. Lisa collaborated the Humane Animal Rescue (formerly Western PA Humane Society) along with other local photographers for their Our Best Friends’ Calendar during 2011-2014. She offered special pet sessions for Animal Friends during their W(h)ine tasting event in 2012 and donated pet photography sessions for their Black-Tie Events. In 2011-2014, Lisa partnered with Camp Bow Wow – Pittsburgh South and the Humane Animal Rescue (Western PA Humane Society) and offered special holiday events. A portion of the proceeds was donated to the Western PA Humane Society. Lisa West has also donated pet photography sessions for Hello Bully during their fundraising events – Lovers Not Fighters Gala and has volunteered at the Pet Connection, Inc.
Lisa West’s photography style is modern, timeless and classic. She finds the perfect balance between posed and candid photography while helping her clients to feel comfortable and enjoy the moment. For wedding photography, she combines wedding photojournalism and creative fine art photography while using beautiful lighting techniques. Lisa captures emotional, elegant wedding portraits and focuses on relationships. High school senior portraits, family sessions and pet photography sessions are all unique. Lisa works closely with each client and designs fun, creative photography sessions that fits each persons’ personal style.

Fun facts about me
I absolutely adore animals!
I fell in love with photography when I was 12 years old. I began photographing my family, friends and pets after my dad bought me my very first camera.
I love inspirational quotes. They lift up my spirit and bring me strength when times are hard.
I LOVE everything Disney!!
I grew up on a military base in Virginia.
I love being outside enjoying nature – hiking, biking, kayaking or just being outside soaking up the sun.
I have three fur babies – Bear-bear, Peanut and Jasmine, aka Jazzy. 🙂
My favorite desert is cherry vanilla ice cream.
I have a large freshwater aquarium with angelfish.
I love watching my favorite romantic movies.
I love cooking healthy meals.
When I’m not doing photography, you’ll find me in the garden planting flowers, shrubs or veggies.
A favorite smoothie that I always make is kale, celery, green apples and a banana. So delicious!
